Procedures of admission and examination.
Students shall be admitted in the first week of June every year.
A student shall be eligible to the Undergraduate Degree Course only after passing the preliminary course recognized by C. I.C.
Term- end examinations shall be held at the end of each semester. Passing each term-end examination is a pre-requisite for getting promoted to the next semester. Those who fail in not more than two subjects shall be given a supplementary chance.
Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree certificates shall not be issued until the student submits his Undergraduate Degree certificate in any Humanities subject from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C).
Certificates shall not also be issued until the student submits a treatise on a topic suggested by the Academic Council of C.I.C.
A student shall not be given more than 15 days of leave in an academic year.
Maximum marks in each subject shall be 100.
In certain subjects, 10-20 percentages of the total marks shall be assessed by way of Continuous Evaluation processes including Projects, Assignments, Seminars and Collections.
The following is the scheme of awarding divisions and grades:
Excellent : 90% and above
Very Good: 80% to 89.9 %
Good : 60% to 79.9 %
Satisfied : 50% to 59.9 %
Below average in Undergraduate Degree Course : 35% to 49.9%
Below average in Postgraduate Degree Course : 40% to49.9%.
Failed in Undergraduate Degree Course : Below 35%
Failed in Postgraduate Degree Course : Below 40%
For Islamic subjects the medium to answer in all term-end examination should be Arabic.
A minimum pass in the Undergraduate degree course is a pre-requisite for getting promoted to the Postgraduate Degree course.
Further explanation with regard to these regulations shall be vested with the syndicate of C.I.C and its Examination Board.
The final term-end examinations for the Postgraduate Degree Courses shall be held under the supervision of eminent scholars belonging to the Samastha Kerala Jamiathul Ulama, the supreme council of Ulamas in Kerala. |
